I created this blog to review the zombie movies I've seen. There are a ton of them!! Some that suck, some that are really good and everything in between. This list will grow slowly. You'll probably see George A. Romero's name alot in this blog. Why wouldn't you? He's the "Godfather of all Zombies." I'll probably summarize each movie and then rate it somewhere on a scale of 1 to 10. There's really no rhyme or reason to my ratings scale. I may rate something really high or really low and then rate something similar exactly opposite. There may be some small thing about a movie that I don't like that might bring a rating down. The reviews are set-up with my most recent review on top, and the oldest at the bottom. Anyway, let's get started...

Remains

Like my favorite tv show, this movie is adapted from a comic book.  The setting is a casino in Reno, NV.  The movie follows a blackjack dealer through the casino headed to his work station.  After a short time he sees a waitress by, and he goes to follow her. After a short exchange of insults, the pair lock themselves in a shelter of some kind that also doubles as a storage closet.  It turns out that he's her drug dealer.  What a life he leads.  He's a blackjack dealer AND a drug dealer!!  The film cuts away to a news broadcast of a new weapon of some sort.  The reporter announces that he's been instructed to take cover.  Seconds later, a blast behind him causes a mushroom cloud to cover the planet.

The scene cuts back to the dealer and the waitress having sex in the shelter.  Apparently she pays with sex instead of cash.  Anyway, they're completely unaware of what's going on outside.  Once the deed is done, they get dressed and realize the power's out and they're stuck.

Another guy also survived somehow and has now turned the power back on.  This lets the pair out of the shelter.  This is when they make the grim discovery that the city of Reno is infested with zombies.  One guy that was trapped outside is let in, and the survival begins....

The group passes the days living off of the food in the casino's kitchen and drinking all the beer in sight.  Occasionally they attempt to escape, but they can never agree where to go.  But it doesn't matter anyway, they're never successful.  During one attempt, the waitress and dealer manage to steal a set of keys from a zombie they've killed.  They take the key fob into the parking garage looking for the car responding to the buttons they push on the fob.  They find a Cooper Mini.  That in itself was funny.  They get to the overhead door, and can't get it open.  They back the car up, and ram it at full speed.  Nothing happens.  This is pretty much the best part of the whole movie.

A group of soldiers begins broadcasting a message that they'll be coming to Reno to rescue anyone in need.  When the group manages to connect with the soldiers, they find out that the soldiers are only interested in stealing food and supplies.  Later, the only female soldier returns looking for shelter because her group was overrun by stronger zombies.  Everyone she was with is now dead.

These stronger zombies begin to feed not only on the group, but the weaker zombies as well.  At this point, only the dealer, waitress, and soldier are left.  The waitress abandons the other two, and jumps in the mini.  She uses some C4 she found.  She doesn't make it to the car in time and is bitten on her lower lip.  Shortly afterwards, the dealer and soldier take the car and head to Utah.

The film ends with the waitress missing her lower lip, carrying a shot-gun.  She's headed to Utah.  I guess she's one of those strong zombies.  That part wasn't explained too well.  That has to be some of the things wrong with this movie.  Some things weren't explained fully.  The acting wasn't too bad.  The idea that some of the zombies may be stronger than others was interesting.  I'm gonna give this movie and 8 on a scale of 1 to 10.
